A compact, modular and affordable bioreactor with its own controller, operated entirely from your browser. Built for universities, start-ups and process development teams who want real bioprocess control without the price tag of GMP pharma equipment.
Founders Edition 2026: ten units, first-year upgrades included.
Microbial, mammalian and custom processes
DO, pH, temperature, weight and more
Stirring, gassing, pumping and dosing
Reusable workflows and comparable data
Build only what the workflow needs. Stack the modules you use today and add more when the process changes.
Cascade control, recipes and process phases make runs reliable and reproducible, day and night.
Change vessel, stirrer or operating mode. 3D-printed parts make custom configurations quick and cheap.
A fraction of the cost of conventional benchtop bioreactors, so a lab can run several units in parallel instead of sharing one.
Yeast and E. coli cultivations have been run on MAKE, with live control, automatic reports and reproducible recipes.
The MAKE controller runs on a small computer next to the reactor. Open it from any laptop or tablet in your network. No installation, no licence server.
Select only the functions needed today. Extend the system when the workflow changes.

The brain of the stack: runs the control loops and connects the temperature sensor. The browser interface comes from a small control computer next to the reactor.
Controlled agitation with speed feedback. Micro drive for microbial work, Cell drive for gentle cell culture; pitched-blade or Rushton impellers.
Precision gas control for aeration and gas mixing, or a simplified on/off version that keeps the culture above a minimum oxygen level.
Connects industrial pH, DO and other probes with a 4-20 mA signal directly to the controller.
Peristaltic pumps for feed, acid, base and additions, controlled by recipes and cascades and tracked by the scales.
The platform the stack stands on: power, connections for the scales and the heated vessel holder with Peltier temperature control.
Same vessel, different head and bottom assemblies; three heights. Expandable to airlift, bubble column and photobioreactors.
Headplates for different ports; integrated sparger, sample and harvest line.
Pitched blade and Rushton turbine in three sizes, other designs on request.
Up to three scales for vessel, feed or consumption monitoring.
Low-cost, non-autoclavable pH and DO probes, or your industrial ones on the 4-20 mA module.
A full-colour light on the stack shows the system and operating state at a glance.
Start with the complete Tower or the lean Compact. Every module can be added or exchanged later.

The complete microbial system, fully assembled and function-tested.

The lean, affordable entry, ideal for teaching, screening and parallel runs.

Something in between? We combine the modules your process needs, for example for cell culture.
Delivery charged separately. Not included unless agreed: 4-20 mA pH/DO probes, gas supply, sterile filters and tubing, on-site installation and process qualification. Optional private four-hour training for your team.
Configurable agitation, aeration, feeding and online sensing.
Gentler agitation, controlled additions and adaptable sensor integration.
Comparable small-scale setups in one consistent control and data environment.
Dedicated liquid transfer for feed, acid/base and other additions.
Gassing by cascade or setpoint, depending on the complexity of your process.
Integrate non-standard vessels, sensors and experimental setups.
We are building the first ten MAKE systems this year as a Founders Edition, for labs that want to work with us early and help shape the platform.
The Founders Edition comes in both packages: the complete MAKE Tower or the lean MAKE Compact.
Click through the real MAKE software with a simulated reactor. No installation, nothing to break.
